THE GRAPES used in the Quintus blend are Tannat, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Saperavi, and Shiraz. All five varieties have been found after many years of experience to be at home in the picturesque King Valley. The 450m elevation, east facing aspect cool to mild climate and red soils encourage each variety to ripen gently, accumulating flavour, colour pigments, and tannins in the berries, whilst retaining varietal purity.
THE WINE is a carefully structured blend, crafted to respect the individual characters of each variety and to capture their harmony when in concert. The palate is seamlessly powerful as well as elegant with fine, persistent tannins, a vibrant black fruit spectrum and notes of liquorice. Most notably, the wine is complex, layered and completely unique. Enjoy with a range of robust meals and be confidant in the aging potential of 10+ years.
