Arneis (are-nayz) is native to piedmont, northern italy, and in the regional dialect means "little rascal". This is a direct reference to the difficult cultivation and fickle nature of the variety. Additional effort in the vineyard is certainly rewarded in the king valleys cool, pristine environment.
The wine is defined by delicate white floral notes, soft nashi pear flavours, a hint of ginger spice and citrus purity on the palate. Gentle juice extraction, cool fermentation, protective winemaking techniques, have combined to shape an intriguingly elegant wine with varietal clarity.
